Positive Education focuses on students understanding and maintaining a caring, supportive, safe school environment.. The main focus is for students to develop strategies which promote respect, responsibility, resilience and positive attitudes. If relationship issues arise between students, they work to restore these. We offer support to students by developing their self-awareness and positive relationship skills in many ways, including: Respectful Relationships and ‘Peaceful Kids’. Friendships are promoted and supported, including how to reconcile when issues occur. The Positive Behaviour for Learning Expectations: Be Resilient, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, are taught and constantly referred to, including the reason for each. Positive Education focuses on respect of self and others to promote student safety and positive behaviour. Students have the opportunity to participate in mindfulness activities including, maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of their thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and surrounding environment, through gentle, conscious behaviours. Students learn to recognise and respond appropriately to their own emotions and actions and those of others.
